Our little equestrian

At riding last weekend. I can't wait for the Gala Event they are putting on for us.  Here they are in training and practicing the quadrill they are learning but it's still a big secret.  That's the dressage movements mirrored in pairs or more, to music and in fancy dress / costume.  I'm coming back early from a wildlife disease conference in Tasmania especially.  So here is Chloe with her team - look at the posture and concentration...  She's riding Nuggett here of  DoveHaven  in the new arena.  Robyn is coaching, accompanied by Charlotte and Geronimo (chestnut) and Chase (grey).  Back to work Check out snoodsnscrews too  - Soon teh ear bonnets will be here.  Bling for the pony :)

Beenleigh Market last week

Beenleigh market last weekend was certainly a much more pleasant experience than the one before!

Snoodsnscrews  was well recieved from its' 6 x 4 site.  Every time I notice something different to do to better promote the store - next time 2 long tables.   I noticed many people stopping to read the banner with that What is a snoodnscrew? look.  hehe  I see teh same look when they look at the magnet on my car...

So check out The Beenleigh markets - I won't be at every one but this weekend and a few before Christmas to pass on the fabulous stocking fillers.

Look good in a hairnet for work. www.snoodsnscrews.com

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) November 10, 2010 --
Look good in a hairnet for work. www.snoodsnscrews.com

Snoodsnscrews is your one stop shop for Hardware and Hairnets. Personal Protective Equipment is designed to prevent accidents from happening. Clothing and headwear can prevent injuries from occurring. The establishment of Work Place Health and Safety regulations are now common place with laws and legislation providing a framework that enforces employers to protect their staff. It’s not always necessary for PPE to be dull and boring – enter the snood. A fashionable hairnet to protect the hair from being caught up in a drill or drill bit when screwing boards to a deck for instance.

Likewise Health Regulations require food supply industry to keep hair out of food, especially in restaurants. Generally hairnets have been designed to be hidden and not seen, dull and boring, especially in the catering world. These days with technology the colors and designs of snoods and bun covers are amazing, fashionable and now very trendy. Bling can be added in any form. Add bling and glamor with sequins or flowers. Fast food chains also have the ability to design snoods to their branding, color, shade or texture. Snoods were traditionally crocheted but can be any fabric now that encases the hair. Snoods have been around since medieval times and are making a fashion comeback today.

A handy woman doesn’t need to be "handsome" – she can be capable of using a drill with a screw and can be beautifully stunning at the same time. No excuses bye bye to the TOMboy image – now it’s GIRLpower….....

Phillips or Square drive?

Latest news
Hi  Everyone,
First up let me apologize in advance for my blatant lack of grammatical skill
The jury is still out on which is the best self-tapping screw system. Here is a little that I know about Phillips head screws verses square drive screws to help you decide what’s best for your project.
Phillips head screws apparently first invented by a guy named Henry Phillips and originally named “cruciform”>  I’m not sure exactly when, but I do know the first commercial application was apparently when he sold them to General Motors in 1936 and all Cadillac’s from that era used the new ground breaking screws. Anyone got a 36 caddie so we can check?
At about the same time (1907) some Canadian gent named P L Robertson invented the square drive.
Most of the screws we sell still have the diameter of the shank measured in the old wire gauge, To convert to metric click this link
Whilst the popularity of square drive screws has certainly taken off recently Aussies and Americans are consuming a huge amount of stainless steel square drive decking screws. Popular amongst some chippies and boat builders for the better purchase provided by the more robust internal square drive.
Still, we are selling more phillips head screws especially in marine grade stainless, whilst the phillips head may strip out a little easier, the screw can be driven at a slight angle and faster than the square drive screws due to its better centering, unlike the square drive which needs the driver inserted reasonably straight.
With huge improvement in screw drivers these days and the adjustable clutch in even the cheapest battery drills we see less and less stripping of the drive system.
Square drive screws are certainly becoming easier to obtain we have a range of pan head and countersunk self-tapping screws in stainless steel and also zinc plated. No galvanized square drive screws yet.
Phillips head self-tappers are still more readily available and certainly cost less than square drive self-tapping screws.  Another advantage is that almost everyone has a phillips head screw driver, even my wife keeps a phillips head screw driver in the kitchen. But I doubt she has a square drive.
If anyone has anything to add to this or if I have it wrong, please let me know and I will add it to this text. Just send it in an email and I will paste it in.
